Learning Outcome – Arrange and Group Objects in a Document
Objective: To insert an image, use the arrangement tool, insert shapes and group multiple objects in LibreOffice Writer.
Task
- Create a document, then insert an image in your document and apply the arrangement tool Send to Back.
- Insert two shapes in the document and group them together.
Solution
1. Insert an Image and Apply Send to Back
➤ Open LibreOffice Writer.
➤ Create a new document and type some paragraphs.
➤ Go to Insert → Image.
➤ Select an image from your computer and click Open.
➤ The image will be inserted into the document.
➤ Select the image by clicking on it.
➤ Go to Format → Arrange → Send to back.
➤ The selected image will moved back.
2. Insert Two Shapes and Group Them
➤ Go to Insert → Shape → Basic Shapes.
➤ Select a suitable shape, such as a Rectangle and draw.
➤ Select another shape, such as a circle and draw
➤ Hold the Shift key and click on both shapes to select them.
➤ Go to Format → Group → Group.
➤ The two shapes will now be grouped together as one object.
➤ Move the grouped object to verify that both shapes move together.
